Noticing their age, we asked and discovered that they were not attending school and that their parents had not applied for school placement during the online application period.\r\n\r\nAfter that period, parents in the Metro North Education District, including Fisantekraal, can only apply in person at the district office in Parow, which is hard to reach by public transport. One of our volunteers transported them there and assisted them with the processes, including an affidavit about the birth certificate problem.\r\n\r\nDespite several follow-ups by ID-Help, these learners had not yet been placed when the schools started in January, so we took the parents to Parow once more. Eventually they were placed early in February 2025.
